In recent years, Chinese governments have launched the policy of “wash your feet and land” in the coastal areas, calling on fishermen to land and change careers. But a small number of fishermen continue to fish, either because of their own cultural limitations or for other reasons. Whether in awe of the ocean, the cycle of life, the simple fishermen have their own insistence. The film also introduces the whole process of seafood from fishing to marketing, showing the real “sea culture”.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn its entirety, \u201cMire\u201d is an excellently made short movie that brings us face to face with the challenges of modern fishing and at the same time reminds us of the beauty and importance of the sea in our lives. I recommend it to anyone who is interested in fishing, preservation of the marine environment and differences between cultures connected to the sea.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Year 1999 turned out to be one of the biggest nightmares that the Eastern Coast of India could have ever witnessed. A Super-Cyclone struck the coasts of Odisha, claiming approximately 10,000 innocent lives and a billion dollar worth of assets. This led to the birth of a specialized task force named “The Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force” which is the first of its kind in the country in showcasing commendable performance during various disasters.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough the move should be commended for its informative style and topic it covers, sometimes it lacks deeper analysis and deeper research of the human story and emotion behind it. We are the only planet with oceans, and they are indispensable for our survival. However, many people are unaware of the importance of ocean creatures and how to protect them. Young scuba diver Ema Poposka believes if people could see the beauty of the ocean and of the corals, they will change their minds about sea protection. This inspired her to join Action for a Cause to produce a documentary film about Hong Kong corals.<\/p>\n

\u201cI admire the author\u2019s dedication to protecting the world of the corals and her wish to warn us of the dangers of their dying out. With thorough research and beautiful shots of the underwater world she has brought us closer to these wonderful creatures and shown us their importance for the entire eco system.\u201d<\/p>\n
